Aplix and HI CORPORATION Close Cooperative Partnership to Integrate Java™ and 3D Technology

Aplix Corporation (TSE: 3727), the global leader in deploying Java™ technology in mobile phones, announced completion of a cooperative partnership with HI CORPORATION, a leading company in graphical middleware software for embedded devices. The integration of Aplix’s JBlend™ platform and HI Corp.’s MascotCapsule(V4) greatly reduces the complexity for implementations of Java 3D graphics for mobile phone manufacturers, including the popular standards based Mobile 3D Graphics (JSR 184).
Aplix and HI Corp. originally cooperated in 2001 on the first Java 3D graphics shipped in a mobile phone. Since then, the companies have cooperated on a variety of products for shared customers around the world.
MascotCapsule is a 3D rendering engine developed as middleware for embedded, resourced-constrained devices. Together with a variety of specifications established by handset manufacturers and wireless carriers, MascotCapsule enables the development of quality 3D games, screensavers, and high performance applications.
