Panasonic to Use JBlend™ for GSM phones overseas
TOKYO, JAPAN - AUGUST 1, 2005 -
TOKYO, JAPAN - AUGUST 1, 2005 - Aplix Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ryu Koriyama) announced today its JBlend™ platform will be embedded in GSM phones offered outside Japan by Panasonic Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. (“Panasonic”); the first model, VS3, has already gone on sale in Europe.
JBlend™ has been deployed in Panasonic’s handsets in Japan since 2002, with the new agreement in place, it marks a new milestone for Aplix to include its JBlend™ platform into Panasonicphones to be sold overseas
The JBlend™ software to be used in the VS3 conforms to Java Technology for the Wireless Industry (JTWI™) 1.0 [JSR-185] specification for the Java Platform Micro Edition (Java ME), which includes the Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC™) 1.1 [JSR-139], the Mobile Media API (MMAPI) 1.1 [JSR-135], as well as the Vodafone Group Plc VSCL 1.1. It also incorporates Aplix’s own KFTT™ (Patent No. 3472775) acceleration technology. The robust, integrated JBlend™ platform allows users to enjoy a rich and interactive Java experience.
